Strike: Drama as Labour leaders storm FIRS office, whip adamant workers with canes

Labour leaders, on Monday, stormed the Lagos office of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to chase erring civil servants out of their offices.

This followed the commencement of an indefinite strike called by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) to press home the demand for the new national minimum wage and the recent increases in electricity tariffs.

In the photos that surfaced on social media, members of the organised labour took the workers, who had defied the directive of the labour leaders, by surprise when they swooped on them around 10 am.
