Sowore knocks court order against Obi’s supporters converging on Lekki toll gate

Social justice crusader and the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (ACC), Comrade Omoyele Sowore, has condemned the court order prohibiting Peter Obi’s supporters from holding their rally at the Lekki toll gate area in Lagos.

Peter Obi’s supporters, aka Obidients, had scheduled the ObiDatti23 Forward Ever Rally to be held on October 1, 2022 in Lagos. They planned to converge on the Lekki tol gate area before proceeding to other parts of the metropolis.

However, Justice Daniel Osiagor of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos ordered Obi supporters not to converge on the Lekki toll gate for their rally.

The Judge held that the rally procession cannot converge on the Lekki toll gate, but that the procession can pass through the toll gate to access Falomo Bridge and other venues, where the rally plans to meet.

Reacting to the development, Sowore in a post on his official social media handles, said it is dangerous that a judge could give such an order stopping the peaceful gathering.

He wrote: “It is completely wrong for anyone to have gone to court to stifle a legitimate political gathering by @PeterObi supporters at #Lekkitollgate and equally dangerous that a judge gave an order stopping the gathering.

“It is a matter of time before a crazy injunction is granted that opposition groups can’t campaign in @OfficialAPCNg stronghold. I totally condemn these acts”.
