Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has approved clock-in devices for healthcare workers, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, has confirmed.
The device, the government believes, would ensure that workers are paid based on the number of hours worked, as the government works towards improving its health sector.
Obidike reportedly disclosed the development during a meeting with Chief Medical Directors, Administrations and Heads of Nursing Services in all government-owned hospitals across the State.
The commissioner said the State is working on the “hub and scope approach”, where referrals would be done from the primary healthcare centre to the secondary centre and finally to the tertiary healthcare centre.
He said that the Anambra State government wants to build at least one “strong” general hospital per local government area, adding that its Eye Care Centre in Nise, Awka South Council Area, has all the world-class facilities to function effectively.
