President Muhammadu Buhari has described as “unnecessary” threats by the Niger Delta Avengers to attack oil installations in the South-south region.
The presidential spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina, in a statement on Sunday, noted that the issues raised by the group were responded to when the president met with the leadership of the Niger Delta and Ijaw National Congress (INC), at the Presidential Villa.
The militant group had on Saturday announced their intention to launch of ‘Operation Humble, a new mission to resume attacks in the oil-rich region.
