Robbery suspect nabbed while fondling female victim’s private part during operation

Nemesis recently caught up with a robbery suspect identified simply as Ebelugwu as the police in Lagos arrested him during an operation with his gang members.

The incident happened in Lagos on March 5, at the suburb community called Shibiri.

Trouble, according to reports, started for Ebelugwu during an operation he participated with his gang members at Akeem Lawal Street, off Imude road, Shibiri.

The report further said the suspect, alongside his gang members, had broken into a particular house armed with weapons.

They were said to have carted away valuables including laptops and mobile phones belonging to a certain resident called Emeka Ukonu.

And in another room, the robbers reportedly met a young girl called Oluchi. While one of the gangsters promptly dispossessed the girl of her mobile phone, Ebelugwu had a different motive. He was more interested in carnality hence he started fondling the girl’s private part.

And for fear of being hurt or killed if she resisted, the said Oluchi, according to reports, decided to “co-operate” with the marauder.

Apparently relaxed, and hoping to arrive at an elusive Eldorado, Ebelugwu continued to explore into Oluchi’s private part. Unknown to him, his gang swiftly carried out their operation and fled the scene.

Left alone like fish out of water, the residents reportedly overpowered Ebelugwu; got him arrested and handed over to the police at Ilembe Hausa Division.

Interrogated at the police station, the suspect reportedly confessed that he got into trouble because he lost focus while fondling the girl’s private part, as she did not present any resistance.

According to him, his gang members left him while he was “busy” with the girl.

The suspect has been charged to the Ojo Magistrate Court for conspiracy, stealing and attempted rape.

But arraigned in court, the suspect pleaded not guilty. The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T. A. Popoola, granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He was then remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre, Kirikiri town, pending when he is able to perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned to April 23, 2022.
