Revealed: Lady who jumped into Lagos lagoon identified as DSS operative

The lady who jumped into the Lagos Lagoon on Thursday afternoon has finally been identified as Adetutu (surname withheld by us), a staff of the Department of State Services (DSS).

It was reported that Adetutu jumped into the lagoon after a heated argument with her lover, who reportedly proposed to her recently.

According to the Uber driver, Adetutu had an argument with her boyfriend as she was in the cab, before she ordered him to stop No sooner had he stopped than she disembarked from the cab and headed towards the railings of the bridge, and then took a plunge into the lagoon.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed the incident, said a search and rescue team had been mobilised for the victim.

Only four months ago, she received commendation from the Director-General of DSS, as the best unarmed combat operative of her set.

However, there have been conflicting reports regarding Adetutu’s fate. While it was reported on Instablog that she was rescued same day (Thursday), other reports say the search for her body is ongoing.
