Reps seek state of emergency on security, summon NSA, Service Chiefs

The House of Representatives has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency on the security situation in the country.

The House resolution was the major outcome of a three-hour executive session, which also demanded immediate recruitment of fresh personnel into the Police and military, saying personnel in the services fall short of requirements.

The lawmakers also summoned the National Security Adviser, Service Chiefs and the Director General of NIGCOMSAT to brief hem on security situation in the country.
