Presidential Poll: Upset as Obi defeats Tinubu, wins Lagos

The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has won the presidential election in Lagos State.

Obi defeated Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, after the votes were calculated from all the 20 LGAs in the State.

According to results collated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the February 25 presidential election in Lagos, Obi polled 582,454 while Tinubu secured 572,606 votes, while Atiku got 75,750 votes in 20 local government areas in Lagos.

Tinubu is a former Lagos governor of Lagos, and the State is historically his stronghold.

Accredited voters: 1,347152

Total Valid votes: 1271451

Rejected votes: 64278

Total votes cast: 1,335729
