Ahead of the February 25 presidential election, Founder and Senior Pastor of Living Faith Church aka Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has urged Nigerians to vote for leaders with character and capacity.
Addressing worshippers during a sermon on Sunday at the Winners Chapel, Oyedepo advised the electorate to vote wisely.
According to him, Nigeria is not an entity or property but a people, who are not for sale.
“I am for the peace and stability of Nigeria, Nigeria is not for sale. We are not an entity or property, we’re a people and we are not for sale.
“You do not need to be a billionaire to be a president, you need capacity, you need character and we have them in every part of the country, everyone is free to join a party, but if you do not join the wellbeing of this nation, you are in problem.
“It will take an emergency intervention to revive this nation in gross distress. This week is decisive, so vote wisely. Vote for a leader with capacity and character,” he said.
Meanwhile, Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin, has said that he did not endorse any presidential candidate for Saturday’s election.
Adefarasin made the clarification while addressing the congregation on Sunday.
He urged the congregations to vote for whoever will prioritise the development and growth of citizens.
“I have come across some random and unauthorised communications making the rounds that have been ‘stitched together’ by unscrupulous individuals, who are unaware that by virtue of my office, I must remain non-partisan.
“Please note that I will never ask you to cast your vote for a particular candidate. However, I will advise you to be mindful, such that whomever you vote for will set us on our way to a purposeful and prosperous Nigeria.
“We will continue to emphasise the need for a leader with the right values, who will prioritize the development and growth of Nigeria and Nigerians; someone who not only understands the assignment but can truly get the job done.
“Most importantly, remember your voting decision is solely yours to make. I only ask that you do so responsibly,” he said.
