Popular TV series ‘Ripples’ stages come back to screen

 ‘Ripples’, the popular Television series from the stables of Zeb Ejiro, is set to return to the screen after 30 years layoff.

The TV soap opera, which was aired on NTA network between 1988 and 1993, will stage a comeback as ‘Ripples: The New Generation’.

Ejiro is collaborating with Africa Magic to bring back the sitcom.

The new TV series will showcase the clash between the old and new generations. It sets off a chain reaction of life-altering events fueled by greed, lust, lies, and love. It will premiere on June 21, exclusively on DStv Africa Magic Showcase Channel 151.

In the new series, a remarkable young woman, Doris Dehinde-Phillips, finds herself on the brink of inheriting not only the Dehinde-Phillips’ fortune but also a staggering 75 per cent share of DP Oil following her grandmother, Leslie Dehinde-Phillips’ passing.

Destined for greatness, Doris was raised to take the reins as Chief Executive Officer of DP Oil. But beneath her seemingly perfect life, she wanted something more elusive, her freedom, which was dashed when a dramatic protest against DP Oil, led by the elders of a Niger Delta community erupted following an oil spill.

The oil spill caused by one of the company’s wells, resulted in severe pollution, further complicating matters. Determined to extricate herself from the situation and pursue her desires, Doris unwittingly falls into the clutches of Talab Abass, a ruthless executive within the company who harbours a desperate aspiration to become CEO.

Convinced that Talab holds the key to her liberation, Doris finds herself tempted to make a fateful decision. In exchange for her freedom, she contemplates handing over DP Oil on a silver platter to her newfound confidant. Little did she know that Leslie’s last will and testament harbours a web of surprises, revealing unforeseen twists that will leave her questioning everything.

The show is set to captivate audiences week after week with its talented cast and gripping plot. It also promises to deliver an unforgettable viewing experience filled with suspense, intrigue, and emotional rollercoasters.

The sitcom features an original cast including Alex Usifo, Barbara Soky, Clarion Chukwura, Lola Alao, as well as new actors.
