Police nab 2 suspects linked to abduction of Calabar-based auto dealer’s wife

The police in Cross River State, have arrested two members of a four-man kidnap gang responsible for the abduction of a Calabar-based automobile dealer.

The gang had released the woman after collecting ransom money from her family.

According to the police, luck ran against the duo as the owner of the bank account through which they received the ransom money was tracked.

“The suspects never knew that they were being trailed. We are happy that two out of four of them have been apprehended,’’ the police spokesperson, SP Irene Ugbo, stated.

She added that the suspects already made confessional statements to the police, and would be arraigned upon conclusion of investigation.

Ugbo added that locally-made pistols, ammunition, phones and other valuable items were recovered from the suspects.

She warned members of the public against sharing of their bank details with others, as such details could be used for fraud or for other illicit dealings.
