The old students of Mary Slessor Secondary Technical School, Arochukwu (MASOSA), have adopted December 30 of every year for their reunion, and simultaneously touch the lives of the students of the school.
The 2019 edition was a modest start, while the 2020 programme was remarkable.
As usual, the programme started with morning fitness exercise at the college ground, attended by dignitaries in the society, some of them also members of MASOSA.
Among those present were Barr Oji Nelson Okoronkwo, SA to Minister of Information; Mazi Sunny Ezumah, Director of INEC; Mazi Okechukwu Anabanti, Deacon Eugene Onoh, 1st Vice President Nzuko Arochukwu Lagos Branch; Mazi Godwin Oji Okoro Oji, Ivuoma Okoro OGFTZA, Mr. Enyinnaya Achinivu, Deputy Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mazi Obinali Ezumah of Akanu Ibiam Polytechnic, Unwana; Mazi Steve Dozer Elekwa, Mazi Kenneth Nkemakolam, Mazi Steve Anicho, Secretary Nzuko Arochukwu Lagos branch among others.
Done with the physical fitness session, the main event which, was the handing over of the renovated science block to the management of the school, took place.
In his remarks, Mazi Sunny Ezumah who represented the Global Coordinator of MASOSA, Mazi John Kanu Okoro aka Baba, explained that MASOSA will continue to seek avenues to give back to the school and society, and ensure that the school is given a face lift and also produce students of high repute.
Among those that graced the occasion were the Rev and Moderator of Presbyterian Church, Amanagwu Parish, Mazi Chinasa, Eze Ezi Ukwu Amanagwu, Mazi Okechukwu Ibe (Okey Unique), Mazi Ekwubiri, Mr. Chibuzo, the school’s Games Master, Mr. Anyunku, the Principal.
After the opening prayer, Mazi Chinasa performed the traditional tape-cutting to officially unveil the building, followed by the handing over of the keys the Principal.
The Global Coordinator of MASOSA, Mazi John Kanu Okoro, who spoke through a WhatsApp video call made possible by the Media and Publicity subcommittee of the reunion planning committee, said he was overwhelmed by the level of support from his members, which led to achieving all that has been done. He also thanked the dignitaries who found time to grace the occasion.

Members of the union later converged at Accord Hotel, Atani, to unwind. They were joined by their friends and family members.
It was a night of networking, nostalgia, pleasantries and social bonding.
Some of the personalities that graced the occasion included, Eze Kalu Ikenga, Eziogo Amuma Ohafia of the 1982 set, Eze Alex Okoroji, Eze Ogo Ujari, Mazi Godwin Okoro Oji and Mazi Steve Dozer Elekwa who are Eze Ezi Nde Okoro Ibom and Eze Ezi Ogo Amanagwu respectively.
HRH, Eze Kanu Okereke Kanu, Eze Ibom Isii, also a member of MASOSA, who strongly identified with the union, was unavoidably absent due to his official engagement.
The event ended on a high note as several old students identified and registered with the association.
The event compere, Chimereze Okeigbo Okoro, was, as usual, in his elements directing affairs.
