* In protest against indiscriminate arrest of residents
Angry women from Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State have burnt down the residence of the community’s traditional ruler.
In a video that surfaced online on Friday, the burning of the traditional ruler’s house was in protest against the indiscriminate arrest of some residents of the community.
Reports say the arrested persons were allegedly involved in the recent spate of killings in the State..
The women, expressing their anger over the arrests, extended their protest to the traditional ruler’s residence and administrative office, alleging his involvement, and branding him a sellout.
The destruction reportedly began at the police station, but later escalated to burning down the district head’s property.

Meanwhile, security operatives have arrested eight suspects in connection with the killings of over 200 persons in coordinates attack on Christmas Eve.
Plateau Police spokesperson, Alfred Alabo, said on Thursday that the suspects were arrested at different locations.
“Concerning the Inspector General of Police’s deployment, we have been getting tremendous success from that process,” Alabo said.
“It would also interest you to know that seven persons, in fact as of the last count, there are now eight of them under investigation in our custody and they have been moved to the state CID where the AIG Zone 4 and the commissioner of police are overseeing the affairs of the operation and also the investigation.”
