The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi on Tuesday, attended the monthly meeting of Afenifere at the Isanya-Ogbo country home of its leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, where he made a promise to restructure Nigeria if elected president in 2023.
Afenifere leaders present at the meeting were said to have received Obi warmly.
Addressing his hosts, Obi explained his vision for Nigeria and how the country can be transformed such that all the citizens would be proud of, and where they can contribute their quota based on individual competence without discrimination.
Reports say he made a commitment to restructuring Nigeria, to achieve justice, equity and rapid development.
Obi reportedly expressed appreciation for the support that the flagship Youruba group has given him, saying he is further encouraged by it, and emboldened to do what is right for the country.”
Obi also promised not to let down the Afenifere, the youths, and indeed all Nigerians if elected as President in 2023.
