Pastor Enenche questions motive behind bandit attack on Kwara church

The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Pastor Paul Enenche, has questioned the motive behind the abduction of 49 worshippers at the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in a Kwara village, saying the attackers were not seeking money and that their true intention is “clearly exposed.”

Pastor Enenche made the remark during a service after calling out a Dunamis Choir member whose elder sister, nephew and several other worshippers were abducted during the November 18, 2025 attack.

The chorister narrated that the gunmen surrounded the church and opened fire, killing three people and injuring one before taking away 49 worshippers. Her nephew, who had just completed university, and her elder sister were among those kidnapped.

Before inviting her to speak, Pastor Enenche questioned why criminals would target a small village church if their aim was financial. He said a rural congregation “cannot be the place anyone targets for money,” insisting the attackers had another intention.

The cleric further said there was “a demonic spirit channeling them, a powerful one and it shall be destroyed,” adding that the attack was spiritually motivated.

Pastor Enenche also urged members to not sit comfortably, while these issues persist, and called for heightened vigilance in the face of rising insecurity.
