There was pandemonium earlier on Thursday following a clash between some Igbo traders and their Hausa hosts in Jos, capital of Plateau State.
Unconfirmed reports say several people were injured in the fracas, which cause could not immediately be confirmed.
Specifically, the incident occurred along Rwang Pam street, an area said to be dominated by Igbos, and Ahmadu Bello way.
As at last night, the Police and other security agencies had successfully contained the situation.
A resident, who declined to identify himself for fear of being targeted, lamented that several houses and shops belonging to Igbo traders were either vandalized or looted.
“I barely escaped with my life as we speak. I don’t even know where my parents are.
“Many Igbo boys have been injured. Tell the police to come to our aid,” he told desperate sought help.
