Abia State governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has congratulated Brigadier General Chima A. Ekeator on his promotion to the rank of Major General in the Nigerian Army.
Major General Ekeator, who hails from Abaki Ndoki in Ukwa East Local Government Area, is among the senior army officers whose promotion was announced on Friday.
In congratulating Ekeator, the governor said his elevation to the elite rank has brought pride and honour to the government and people of Abia State.
The Commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu, said in a statement that “Maj.-Gen Ekeator, a senior officer of outstanding merit at the Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, has distinguished himself through professionalism, resilience, and unwavering dedication to national service. His promotion is a testament to years of sacrifice, discipline, and deep commitment to the security and unity of Nigeria.”
Kanu said that Governor Otti described the promotion as not only well-deserved but also a reflection of the excellence and distinction for which Abians are known across the world. He emphasized that Major General Ekeator’s devotion to duty continues to uplift Abia’s reputation and serves as a shining example to younger generations aspiring to serve their nation.
The governor expressed confidence that Ekeator will continue to excel in his new role as he contributes even more significantly to strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.
