A coalition of civil society organizations, on Monday, stormed the streets of Osogbo, Osun State capital, protesting President Bola Tinubu’s policies, which they said has foisted hardship on the citizens.
The protesters specifically rejected the recent petrol subsidy removal, Naira floating and other reforms of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.
According to reports, the group had earlier issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Federal government urging it to provide palliatives to cushion the effects of the removal of petrol subsidies on Nigerians.
Chairman of the coalition, Waheed Lawal, said it is a fact that poverty, hunger, confusion and frustration are in the land, adding that anger is bottling up and that it is just a time for Nigerians to vent their anger.
Before proceeding on the protest, members of the Human Rights group had converged on the Ayetoro area of Osogbo at about 8 am, moving to major areas of the city with placards to press home their demands.
