Ohuabunwa commiserates with Obiozor over burning of his home, condemns arson

A frontline presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, has commiserated with the President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Professor George Obiozor, on the burning of his country home in Imo State at the weekend.

Ohuabunwa, in a statement on Sunday, described the act as uncharitable in the face of efforts by the Obiozor-led Ohaneze Ndigbo to bring lasting peace to a once peaceful Igboland.

Ohuabunwa, who doubles as the Convener of the New Nigeria Group (NNG) frowned at the arson on the elder statesman’s country home.

He further described the arson as a “desecration of the Igbo ethos” and expressed sadness that such as dastardly act could be visited on the “symbol of Igbo collective and authority”.

The presidential aspirant, therefore, urged the government to leave no stone unturned in fishing out those responsible for the heinous act.

Ohuabunwa also called on all well meaning sons and daughters of South East to joins hands in halting the violence currently being witnessed in the region.

He noted that violence has never solved any problem and urged all aggrieved youths to embrace dialogue.

Ohuabunwa promised to tackle the growing insecurity in the land if given the opportunity to serve Nigeria s President come 2023.
