Obiano sworn-in for second term

Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has been sworn-in for a second term in office.

Obiano was sworn-in on Saturday by the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Peter Umeadi at exactly 1pm amidst jubilation by citizens of the state who converged on the Alex Ekwueme Square venue of the inauguration.

Obiano’s deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke had earlier been sworn in at 12:45pm.

Obiano’s swearing in was heralded by 21 gun salute, followed by a tumultuous shout of Akpokuedike, his traditional title.

The venue for the event was packed full with people from all parts of the state.

The event was attended by several dignitaries including Ebonyi State governor, Engr. Dave Umahi; Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; Delta State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, among others.
