A former presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has expressed heart-felt to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome over the fire incident at the headquarters of Christ Embassy Church in Lagos.
A devastating fire engulfed Christ Embassy’s former headquarters in Oregun area of Lagos on Sunday morning.
Obi, in series of tweets on Sunday, said: “I feel deeply distressed by the fire that gutted the headquarters of Christ Embassy Church earlier today.
“As a nation, we must come together to support those affected and rebuild what has been lost.
“We must all stand united in the face of adversity and work towards a safer and more compassionate society for all knowing that God is always with us even in our storms,” Obi said.
“My thoughts and prayers are first and foremost with the founder of the Church, Revered Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the entire Church membership, and the community affected by this tragic incident,” the former Governor of Anambra State added.
Obi urged the authorities concerned to immediately investigate the cause of the fire, and take the necessary steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
