The Abia State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has renewed its partnership with the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) in boosting security on federal roads in the State.
The Public Relations Officer of the Civil Defence, Abia Command, Doreen Udugwu, disclosed the new partnership deal through a statement on Tuesday.
Udugwu said the Commandant of Abia NSCDC, Usman Alfadarai, discussed a stronger working relationship between the two agencies during a meeting with the newly posted Federal Roads Maintenance Engineer of FERMA Abia State, Okafor Festus Obiora.
The FERMA boss, Udugwu added, expressed gratitude for the support he received from NSCDC during the #EndBadGovernance protest and appreciated the Commandant for sending security personnel to ensure that properties were not vandalized.
Okafor sought a partnership with NSCDC to enhance the safety and security of federal roads, personnel, and users.
In response, Alfadarai assured FERMA of its unwavering commitment to supporting the agency’s mandate in maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure in Abia State.
