The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has admitted that Nigerians are facing a tough time in their bid to survive.
He, however, said President Muhammadu Buhari, was the only Messiah that could salvage the country.
Yet the Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, said any politician that remains in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is a “sinner”.
Odigie-Oyegun, who spoke at a mega rally of the party in Lokoja, Kogi state capital, said it is obvious that things are a bit hard for Nigerians, but efforts are on to ensure that the people benefit from the initiatives of the Buhari-led government.
The chairman said the president was a God sent Messiah that had been piloting the affairs of the country in the right direction, saying the criticism against Buhari administration were senseless coming from people that did not wish the country well.
According to him, the present administration had taken some steps at making the country self-sufficient and self-reliant.
He said, “Today, though things are a bit hard in our nation, we admit that a lot of senseless things are being said about the party and about their leader the President. Don’t listen to them. I want to tell you that this nation, God sent a messiah; God sent President Buhari to heal the wounds of this nation.
“Today, we don’t depend on oil anymore but on agriculture for the sustenance of this country. We are almost self-sufficient in rice production. Today, we are building a new railway system that will pass through Lokoja, a totally new railway system. Today, the power in this country has stabilized at 7000 mega watts; that is only the beginning of good things that are yet to come,” Oyegun said.
