The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has declared the position of the Super Eagles head coach vacant.

Portuguese, Jose Peseiro, was the last man in charge of the Super Eagles.

The 63-year-old guided the Super Eagles to second position at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

He, however, announced Thursday last week that he was done with the Super Eagles job.

Consequently, the NFF ended all discussions with Peseiro, and has now called for applications from both foreign and local coaches for the role.

It also invited applications for the position of the country’s U-17 side, Golden Eaglets head coach.

A former Super Eagles defender, Nduka Ugbade, was the last man in charge of the Golden Eaglets

The NFF also provided requirements for the two positions as well as the links.
Only the Flying Eagles – who are currently playing at the African Games – have a substantive head coach in the person of Ladan Bosso.

Reports say the NFF has also provided requirements for the two positions as well as the online link to submit applications.

Meanwhile, the NFF has listed qualifications for Peseiro’s successor as Super Eagles coach.

It said that Peseiro’s successor will be expected to have:

1 Relevant coaching qualifications.

2. Proven experience at the elite level of football management.

3. A successful track record in leading teams.

4. Knowledge of African football will be an added advantage.
