The Naira, on Wednesday, slumped against the American dollar at the official window of the foreign exchange (FX) market.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) foreign exchange data showed that the Naira closed at N1,488.56/$1, as against N1,487.36/$1 it traded on Tuesday.
This represents a loss of N1.24 for the local currency against the American greenback.
The Naira gained N10 against the dollar to trade at N1,505/$1, as against the previous day’s rate of N1,515/$1.
It, however, closed flat against the British Pound to trade at N2,090/£1.
The Naira gained N30 against the Canadian dollar to trade at N1,200/CA$1, as against the previous day’s rate of N1,230/CA$1.
The local currency also gained N10 against the Euro to trade at N1,775/€1 as against the previous day’s rate of N1,785/€1.
