Naira loses N30, trades at N1,596/$1 in official window

The national currency, on Friday, lost N30 against the American dollar in the official window.

Data from the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM) showed that the domestic currency traded N1,596/$1, up from N1,566/$1 recorded on Thursday.

The intra-day high and low recorded during the day were N1,619/$1 and N1,495/$1 respectively, representing a lean spread of N124/$1.

The Naira gained N60 against the dollar at the parallel section of the market to trade N1,580/$1, as against the N1,640/$1 posted on Thursday.

The currency gained N20 against the British Pound to trade N2,070/£1 as against the previous N2,090/£1.

The Canadian dollar remained flat against the naira to trade N1,200/CA$1.

The naira also gained N20 against the Euro to trade N1,720/€1 as against the previous N1,740/€1.
