More Nigerians fleeing Sudan arrive in Abuja

A second batch of Nigerians, who fled crisis-ridden Sudan, has returned to the country from Egypt.

They returned two days after the first batch of evacuees returned late on Wednesday, May 3, via Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

A total of 130 evacuees returned to the country on Friday afternoon.

NIDCOM Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocol Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, who confirmed their arrival, said the returnees are mostly women.

They were received by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mustapha Ahmed, among other government officials.
