Minister Tunji-Ojo amplifies Tinubu’s capacity to end insecurity in Nigeria

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s ability to decisively tackle Nigeria’s worsening insecurity.

Tunji-Ojo, who spoke through his support group – BTO4BAT – said President Tinubu has continued to demonstrate strong political will by investing heavily in modern security infrastructure, intelligence gathering, and inter-agency collaboration to restore peace nationwide.

Speaking on Sunday during the inauguration of ward coordinators to drive grassroots mobilisation for the President, the minister said that despite the complexity of Nigeria’s security challenges, President Tinubu’s strategic reforms would begin to yield significant results in the coming months.

Represented by the Director General of the BTO4BAT, Mr. Adesuyi Adojutelegan, Tunji-Ojo noted that key reforms in the country’s internal security architecture – including enhanced border management, improved welfare for security personnel and the deployment of advanced surveillance systems – reflect the administration’s commitment to combating kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes.

“The President has excelled in every sector and is committed to tackling the country’s security challenges,” he said.

He emphasised the need for collective action to curb criminality, especially the rising cases of armed kidnappings targeting public school students.

Tunji-Ojo explained that the inauguration of ward coordinators for BTO4BAT, a political support group mobilising for Tinubu’s reelection, is crucial to strengthening grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general election.

Highlighting the administration’s economic reforms, he said the efforts of the coordinators would translate into significant electoral backing for the incumbent President.

“So, the coordinators must engage in grassroots mobilization for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection across the wards,” he added.

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Fafumilade Adetilewa, reaffirmed the government’s determination to defeat insecurity, noting that the ongoing economic policies were already producing visible gains.

“We will overcome insecurity, I can assure you. Support President Bola Tinubu’s good initiatives and his re-election in 2027. He has performed well and deserves another term,” Adetilewa said.

Also speaking, the APC Chairman in Akoko North West Local Government Area, Kehinde Obanla, called on all party members to rally behind the President, stressing that Tunji-Ojo’s performance should reflect at the polls.

One of the newly inaugurated coordinators, Suleiman Muyideen, pledged to intensify grassroots mobilisation, noting that the goodwill enjoyed by the minister among his constituents would positively influence President Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
