May 29: CCB Chair takes Asset Declaration Form to Buhari

The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), on Friday, presented President Muhammadu Buhari with an asset declaration form at the State House, Abuja.

The form was delivered to the President at the Presidential Villa by the Chairman of the CCB, Professor Muhammad Isa, who led other Bureau officials to the President.

The exercise is in compliance with a provision in the constitution requiring all public officers to declare their assets and liabilities upon taking office and at the conclusion of their service.

The asset disclosure form is a schedule in the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Constitution (1999) that is required of all elected, appointed, recruited, and contracted public officers.

Declarants are required by law to list their assets and liabilities, including those of non-public officer spouses and minor children under the age of 18, and to submit them to the Bureau within 30 days of receiving the forms.

THEWILL earlier reported that the CCB had directed the incoming President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his Vice, Kashim Shettima, and the 28 Governors-elect, cabinet officials, to declare their assets.
