Man City crowned EPL champs again

Manchester City have been crowned English Premier League (EPL) champions once again, thanks to Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest.

The Gunners, who had held the top spot for 248 days and enjoyed an eight-point lead over City in March, faltered in the latter stages of the campaign, allowing Pep Guardiola’s side to overtake them and claim the title for the fifth time in six seasons.

Forest’s victory not only sealed City’s triumph but also ensured their own top-flight status against all odds. Previously facing the threat of relegation, Forest turned their fortunes around with an impressive run led by Taiwo Awoniyi, who scored the winning goal in a raucous City Ground.

For Forest, this victory represents a remarkable achievement as they defied expectations and secured their survival. With over 20 new signings at the start of the season, Forest endured an 11-game winless streak by the end of April, leaving them on the brink of relegation. However, Awoniyi’s outstanding form, with five goals in three games, propelled Steve Cooper’s team out of the bottom three, making them safe from the clutches of Southampton, Leicester, and Everton.

Cooper’s successful turnaround has boosted his reputation and showcased his ability to guide Forest through challenging times. Arsenal’s inability to mount a comeback allowed Forest to hold on to their lead and trigger jubilant scenes of celebration for their EPL survival. Both Forest and Arsenal will face Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers, respectively, in their final matches of the season.
