Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Mr. Mohammed Umar, has been appointed as Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), following the suspension of Ibrahim Magu, who is being investigated for alleged corruption.
Mohammed, until his appointment, the Director of Operations at the anti-graft agency, resumed duties Wednesday. The presidential probe panel on corruption allegations against the suspended acting chairman of EFCC sat again on Wednesday.
Headed by Justice Ayo Salami, the panel, which sat inside the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, specifically looked at sundry documents and chatted with persons connected to the case.
Access was again denied unauthorised persons at the premises, as Department of State Services (DSS) operatives manned the gate to provide watertight surveillance in the vicinity.
