The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has admonished the Federal government to act fairly in its quest to publicly unmask looters of Nigeria’s treasury.
Sani argued that treasury looters are not only members of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) as the APC government want the citizens believe, tasking the government to also expose members of the APC who have similarly looted the country’s treasury.
Sani was unsparing of even those that are close to President Muhammadu Buhari, insisting that the list the government plans to publish should include the names of the people he described as the cabal within the Presidency.
The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mallam Abubakar Malami, had revealed recently plans by the Federal government to publish the names of all treasury looters in Nigeria.
In fact, he said President Muhammadu Buhari had directed relevant government agencies to compile names of those already indicted for treasury looting.
But Sani, in a figurative statement, cautioned that the names of looters being compiled for publication should not have members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alone.
He made the remark in a post on his Facebook page on Friday.
The post reads: “The Federal Government’s decision to publish the names of looters is commendable. Hope the ‘call-up’ list will not be limited to the ageing ‘Umbrella United’ players, but will include those in the ‘Broomers FC’ and ‘Paris Saint Germain’ and ‘Dynamo Cabal FC’ players.”
The lawmaker used the broom to refer to the APC while PDP was referred to as the umbrella party.
