It was a bad day for Chelsea FC as they lost the third straight FA Cup finals – Saturday’s to Liverpool FC.
The game went to penalties after the 90 minutes regulation time ended goalless and the 30 minutes extra time produced no goals either.
Liverpool won 5-6 on penalties after César Azpilicueta and Mason Mount missed their penalty kicks and the save of Mane’s kick by Mandy was not enough for the blues.
Chelsea lost the last previous FA Cup finals to Arsenal in 2020 and Leicester in 2021.
The latest loss means that the North London side will be ending the season without a trophy and Liverpool’s dream of quadruple for this season still very much alive.
