Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have impounded 15 tankers parked indiscriminately along 2nd Rainbow down to the Mile 2 Bridge on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, Lagos.
The LASTMA spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq, disclosed through a statement that the enforcement operation was carried out on the directives of Mr. Hon. Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser on Transportation to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu,.
Reports, however, indicated that some of the affected tankers were actually impounded at Mile 2 Estate, after investigations revealed that they parked indiscriminately.
The parking caused serious traffic for Motorists coming out of the Estates.

According to the LASTMA Director of Operations Gbejemede, the enforcement was in accordance with the law, which he said would continue until zero tolerance is achieved on illegal/indiscriminate parking across the State.
The Special Adviser on Transportation, therefore, urged motorists in the State to cooperate with the government by informing LASTMA of any broken-down or abandoned trailer/truck.
