Lagos belongs to Portuguese, Seun Kuti stokes further controversy

Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has joined the controversial debate on the ownership of Lagos State.

He said Lagos is neither for Yorubas nor a no man’s land but a European satellite slave port.

There is an ongoing debate on who owns Lagos ahead of the governorship election on Saturday.

While actor Yul Edochie said the metropolitan city indeed belongs to Yoruba, the youngest son of the Afrobeat pioneer, late Fela Anikulapo Kuti, advised people to familiarise themselves with history, insisting that many know nothing about Lagos.

He wrote: “Lagos is no-man’s land – WRONG. Lagos is Yoruba land – WRONG AGAIN. Lagos is a European satellite slave port – CORRECT!!
