Lagos agency impounds 28 vehicles in massive crackdown on illegal parking

The Lagos State Government has impounded 28 vehicles in massive crackdown on illegal parking at Berger area of the metropolis.

This is in a renewed effort to enhance vehicular movement and maintain public order.

The government reaffirmed its collaboration with the State Taskforce for ongoing traffic law enforcement exercises across the metropolis.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, disclosed that a recent operation led to the impounding of 28 vehicles at the Berger bus stop along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (outbound Lagos).

The vehicles had illegally converted a designated lay-by into a makeshift garage, obstructing traffic flow.

Osiyemi emphasised that the enforcement restored smooth traffic movement, allowing commuters easier access to their destinations.

He also reiterated the ministry’s firm commitment to upholding traffic regulations throughout the state, ensuring that Lagos roads remain free from congestion.

The commissioner assured residents that these enforcement operations will continue routinely to maintain order and reduce gridlock in the city.
