Kidnapper protests N.2m share out of N12m ransom pick, reports gang to police

A certain Sadu Bunkawu, a self-confessed kidnapper who rejected N200,000 as his share of N12million ransom money, has reported his fellow gang members to the police.

Reports say the kidnapper revealed that his gang abducted one Umaru Diffiwa and Umaru Babidi and collected N12 million as ransom, but expressed sadness after he was given a paltry N200, 000.

Describing the amount of money given to him as unjust, Bunkawu reportedly appealed to the police to correct the injustice.

He specifically accused the other six members of the gang of conspiracy, which culminating in giving him only N200, 000 from the N12 million they collected as ransom.

I lost my share of the money while rushing to reach home on time,” Bunkawu said.

“The money was paid to seven of us by the family members of the victims. After releasing them, I was called and given N200, 000 only,” he claimed.

Sadu Bunkawu who was charged of criminal conspiracy and kidnapping pleaded guilty, after he was  arraigned by the police before a Chief Magistrate Court in Yola, Adamawa State.

After the plea, the police prosecutor prayed the court to adjourn the matter to enable him complete the investigation and take the case file to the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.

The judge, Muhammad Abdullahi, adjourned the case to April 4.
