Kano State governor, Abba Yusuf, met President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday at the State House.
Governor Yusuf, the only governor produced by the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) during the last general elections, has reportedly declared his interest in joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing a leadership tussle within the NNPP.
Further checks revealed that his estranged political benefactor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, who has raised concerns about Governor Yusuf’s intention to join the APC, is also reportedly engaging with the ruling party.
Governor Yusuf was led to the meeting with President Tinubu by the latter’s Chief of Staff, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila.
The Kano State Governor arrived at the Presidential Villa at about 4:10 pm and departed around 6:57 pm.
Details of the meeting were sketchy at press time, as the governor declined to speak with journalists.
