JUST IN: Hoodlums on the rampage, set Lagos market on fire

Suspected hoodlums have gone on the rampage at the Ile-Epo, Abule-Egba area of Lagos State following a clash, which resulted in the wanton destruction of goods and properties.

Reports say the clash occurred between rival gangs in the quest for superiority.

The fight, which started on Wednesday night, reportedly continued up untill Thursday morning.

Already, several shops in the popular Ile-Epo market have been set ablaze and goods destroyed.

The hoodlums were also said to have resisted intervention by the police.

They also prevented a fire service truck, which arrived at the market on Thursday morning, from putting out the fire, as they pelted it with stones.
