The visit of the Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu to President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday has fueled speculations that he might defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Photos on social media of Ikpeazu with President Buhari sent many tongues wagging in the State.
Not a few believe that the visit is connected with his rumoured intention to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, had once teased Ikpeazu about joining the ruling party.
“You are already a progressive at heart. You are progressive in action,” he had told the governor at an event.
But Ikpeazu has repeatedly said he has no plans of leaving the PDP.
He affirmed that he was not going to leave the PDP.
Also, his media aides dismissed the speculation on Thursday.
