IGP withdraws police security attached to Buhari’s bother, Matawalle, Sylva, Ayu, other VIPs

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the withdrawal of police officers attached to former governors Timipre Sylva, Gbenga Daniel, Rochas Okorocha, and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, amongst other VIPs.

Reports quoting a recent signal from the Force Headquarters dated July 12, IGP Egbetokun, withdrew police orderlies attached to former governors, senators, ministers, family members of former President Muhammadu Buhari, and some politically-exposed persons across the country.

The list include former Governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim; former cabinet secretary to President Buhari, Boss Mustapha; former Governor of Bauchi State, Adamu Mu’Azu; former Governor of  Imo State, Rochas Okorocha; former Governor of Gombe State, Danjuma Goje; former Governor of Osgun State, Gbenga Daniel; and former Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle.

Others are former Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi; former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva; former senator Haliru Jika; former Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Clem Ikanade Agba; former National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Iyorchia Ayu; former member of the House of Representatives, Rabiu Lawan and former senator Stephen Adey.

The memo also directed the withdrawal of security aides from other people without specifically providing their full names.

The signal only described others to be deprived of personal security aide as a former Minister of Science and Technology, former National Assembly Clerk, a former power minister, Aisha Buhari’s brother, and a brother of former President Buhari, who was only identified as Daura.
