Hunters nab suspected retired soldiers, others for alleged robbery in Osun

The police in Osun State have confirmed the arrest of four persons after allegedly robbing an iron steel company in the capital, Osogbo. 

It was learnt that officials of Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Services apprehended them with a gun and two vehicles loaded with irons stolen from the steel rolling company premises. 

A top security source said: “Two of the suspects are retired soldiers. They have access to the compound and they worked with two other suspects, who were believed to be buyers of the stolen items. 

“The two suspects that had access to the premises were the ones armed with weapons that stole irons and planned selling it to the other suspects. 

“They had evacuated the stolen iron to about six 6 kilometers away from the premises of the company to an uncompleted building in Alabameta area in Osogbo where they were arrested by hunters and handed over to police.” 

The spokesperson of Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident. 

She said: “Our men arrested them and investigation is ongoing. I can’t say who they are yet. But we won’t allow criminals hide in any part of the State.”
