A wild Hippopotamus, last week Tuesday, reportedly attacked and killed a pregnant woman along the old bridge crossing point of River Benue.
An eye witness said the woman had gone to the Island with other traders to buy vegetables to resell when she was attacked at the bank of the river.
Our sources said the woman, whose identity was not clear, was being ferried in an engine boat, which developed fault before they were transferred into wooden one.
The attacked boat was broken into pieces, with the victim drowning.
However, a search party was launched and her body recovered on Wednesday.
