Ghana bans financial transactions in foreign currencies

The Bank of Ghana, on Thursday, issued a directive banning the pricing, advertising, receipting or making payments for goods and services in any foreign currency in the country.

The directive was conveyed through a statement, which noted that the legal currency in Ghana is the Cedis, and should be the only medium of financial transactions in the country.
