The Madiebo family of Umuokpo Awka in Anambra State has announced the funeral rites in honour of their patriarch, a civil war veteran and celebrated author, General Alexander Madiebo, who passed on recently at the age of 90 years.
According to the funeral programme released by the family, there will be Service of Songs on August 18, at the NPA Tennis Club, Bode Thomas Street, Surulere, Lagos, beginning 5pm.
Similarly on August 25, another Service of Songs is scheduled for the country home of the deceased in Umuokpo Awka, also by 5pm.
Funeral service in honour of the deceased is on August 26, at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Umuokpo Awka, at 10am. It will be followed by interment at his country home in Umuokpo Awka.
The family further said August 27 is set aside to formally receive condolence visitors at the home of the deceased.
Finally, the family said there shall be Outing Service on August 28, also at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Umuokpo Awka, starting 10am.
The late General Madiebo is survived by his wife Ifeyinwa, four children including Mr. Richard Madiebo, Chairman of Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS), as well as grandchildren and several other relations.
