Frank Mba returns as Police Public Relations Officer

Five years after serving as the Police Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba is set to return to his former role.

Mba, who was decorated as Assistant Commissioner of Police, served as the spokesman of the force under former IGP, Mohammed Abubakar from 2012-2014.

He takes over from Jimoh Moshood who was appointed by the immediate past IGP, Ibrahim Idris who retired on Tuesday.

Mba, whose appointment is coming barely twenty-four hours after the appointment of a new IGP Adamu Mohammed, is expected to meet with his new boss in Abuja later in the day.

Mba studied law at the University of Lagos, and was called to the Nigerian bar in 2002.

The police spokesman, who hails from Ezimo in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, was the best graduating cadet inspector in academics at the Police Academy, Kano, in 1993.

He rose through the ranks and was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1999, Deputy Superintendent of Police in 2003, Superintendent of Police in 2006 and Chief Superintendent of Police in 2012.

He is currently on the rank of Commissioner of Police, and served at the Special Fraud Unit, Ikoyi, Lagos, before his new posting as the Force Public Relations Officer.
