There seems to be confusion in the All Progressive Congress (APC) over the initial appointments into President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
There were sundry media reports on Monday evening that President Tinubu had appointed veteran journalist, Dele Alake, as his spokesperson and Segun Dada as his aide on digital media.
The news had drawn a series of congratulatory messages, especially to Dele Alake, who many described as the best spokesperson’s job in the new administration considering the plethora of communication techniques that will be needed in the administration.
Among the top chieftains and personalities who sent congratulatory messages to Dele Alake was Femi Fani-Kayode, who worked together with the veteran journalist in the communications directorate during the campaign.
However, in a WhatsApp chat with an online newspaper, Alake denied getting appointed as the spokesperson to the president.
He reportedly described the story being shared in the media as incorrect.
A report by The Geniys Media said that such an appointment had not been made as of the time of its report.
The report added: “To confirm the falsity, FFK has deleted his congratulatory message to Dele Alake.”
