The Benin–Asaba Expressway Concession Company (BAECC) has reassured the public regarding the ongoing construction along the Benin–Agbor stretch of the expressway, acknowledging concerns over the pace of work.
The company, on Thursday, emphasised its awareness of the challenges faced by motorists, traders, and residents affected by the project.
“We understand the inconvenience caused to motorists, traders, and residents and sincerely empathise with all road users,” the statement read. “Seasonal rains have affected some aspects of work, but our teams are working tirelessly to maintain progress while prioritising safety.”
The BAECC highlighted that the 125-kilometre expressway is being delivered in phases, with steady progress already recorded. The company appealed for patience and cooperation from road users and business operators along the route as construction continues.
“We appeal for patience and cooperation from road users as well as those who have businesses around these corridors as we work towards delivering a safer, faster, and more reliable expressway that will connect communities, ease transport, and drive economic growth for Edo and Delta states,” BAECC stated.
