A security consultant with Conoil Nigeria Limited has dismissed as a “false alarm,” the claim that a strange gas leakage occurred at oil well head 4 and 5 of Conoil in Koluama 1 community of Bayelsa State.
Bello Bina in a statement in Yenagoa, said the smoke noticed from the oil well heads was routine testing and clearing of a gas well before resumption of normal operations.
An environmental group and the Ijaw Youth Council had raised the alarm that there was a strange gas leakage from Conoil oil well heads.
