Rhythm and Blues (R&B) music singer, Celine Dion, has announced the release of new music, amid neurological disorder affecting her musical career.
The new album “Love Again”, is the soundtrack for a film of the same name, and contains five new songs, as well as past hits.
“I had a lot of fun doing this movie. And to have the privilege of appearing with the beautiful and talented actors like Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan in my very first feature film which is a gift that I will cherish forever,” Dion said in a statement.
“I think it’s a wonderful feel-good story, and I hope that people will like it, and like the new songs too”.
The romantic comedy by director Jim Strouse is scheduled for release in theatres on May 5.
This development is coming a few months after the singer posted a tearful video on Instagram to say she had recently been diagnosed with Stiff-Person Syndrome and would not be ready to start an European tour as planned in February.
She said the disorder was causing muscle spasms and was not allowing her to use her vocal cords to sing the way she is used to.
She later cancelled the North American section of the tour due to her health problems.
Her spring dates in Europe, which were due to begin in Czech Republic, were postponed to 2024, while eight of her summer shows were cancelled entirely.
The canceled show would have been her first global concert tour in a decade and the first without her husband-manager, Rene Angelil, who died from cancer in 2016.
